B. B. asked:
I need to start filling child custody papers and I dont know where to find them. My ex who is truely an unfit parent( more into drugs and alcohol then his Kid) might try and take mybaby from me simply to hurt me because I made him mad. I need to find the papers and a way to file them before him.

Try the courthouse! You can probably call, but it could be a long wait. You might need to go down there! Good Luck to you. Do whats truly best for the child and coming from divorced parents don’t drag them in the middle. Try and keep your problems and arguments between the two of you as much as possible. Don’t argue in front of your child or talk bad about the other parent it doesn’t help!

If you pay child support or if you are receiving child support you can obtain your records from the friends of the court, the name could be different depending on where you live.
If you are trying to file for sole custody, you need need to go to the county court house in your state and pick up petition forms for child custody then and follow the instructions. ( have someone counsel you when you answer the questions and tell the truth and be straight and brief do not let you children see any emotions (anger, fear, frustration as you are going thought this )after you turn your completed forms they will set a court date. Good luck and GOD BLESS you.

You need to go to the court where the papers were written. They would be in that county’s court house. If you are in a different county or state and he is giving you trouble. You can call the police on him or go to your local Department of Social Services and let them help you get your papers filed in the proper place. Anytime you or he moves, the family court must be notified if child support is being paid.
So, I would say check with the local social services. If you have lost the original social service can help you get a copy of them They should be able to help you clear up this matter.
