Where can I get information on the child custody laws in Michigan? Also, can someone tell me if there are any Lawyers that specialize in this that do free consultations? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried looking at ? They have a lot of information on there including the family law code. I just checked and you can go to . Then under the Michigan Compiled Law Search in the box labeled MCL Key Word Search, you can type in child custody to see all the state laws that discuss child custody. Pay particular attention to the Child Custody Act of 1970 (Sec. 722.21 – 722.31)

And yes, there are lawyers who specialize in that and many will do a free initial consultation. Check the yellow pages in your area.

    Good luck!
